Nine aims to make dental care more accessible, transparent and user-friendly for patients, while also helping clinics improve operational efficiency. The platform reflects a modern approach to dental care and strengthens our growing presence in the healthcare technology market.

Entering the Saudi Arabian market required a deep understanding of local user behavior and regulatory nuance. One of the first market-specific insights we learned was that phone number–based authentication is far more common in KSA than email-based registration. This required redesigning the authentication flow to support SMS login for Saudi phone numbers.

We also needed to optimize for iOS users, as iPhone devices dominate the market. This shifted our development priorities and testing approach, ensuring the app performed at its best within the iOS ecosystem.

On the technical side, our team was responsible for the React Native frontend, while the backend was developed by the client’s team in PHP. This resulted in some inconsistencies between the two systems, requiring close collaboration, rapid feedback loops, and deep debugging to synchronize API behaviors and ensure high performance.

There were also regulatory challenges during App Store submission. As Nine is a healthcare application, Apple required additional verification documents proving that the company had the legal right to develop and publish the app. They also required some changes in user journey such as making some pages public and we quickly adjusted to that. Coordinating between Apple Support and the client’s lawyer took persistence, but ultimately we resolved all issues and secured approval.

Our development team implemented the mobile application using React Native, ensuring high performance on both iOS and Android, while focusing additional optimization on iOS based on market needs. The authentication flow was rebuilt around phone-number verification, creating a fast and familiar experience for Saudi users.

Throughout the project, our team and the client’s backend developer worked closely to resolve API inconsistencies and align data structures. Timely communication allowed us to quickly address integration challenges and ensure high performance.

Handling the App Store submission required navigating Apple’s strict healthcare regulations. Our Project Manager coordinated all documentation and compliance steps with Apple Support and the client’s lawyer till the final approval.

This project also strengthened BeeWeb’s presence in the healthcare technology sector, giving our team deeper experience in patient-centered digital solutions, regulatory processes, and market-specific UX decisions in the Middle East.

We started the Nine Dental App from scratch- from branding and business logic to full UI/UX Design and mobile application development. 

The app was developed through a tightly coordinated process led by a React Native mobile developer, a UI/UX designer, and a dedicated project manager who handled communication and delivery.

The key features included the following:

• Easy Appointment Booking: Users can book, reschedule, or cancel appointments with just a few taps.
• Teledentistry Services: Virtual consultations allow patients to connect with dentists without visiting the clinic.
• Apple Pay Integration: Secure and fast payment processing using Apple Pay.
• Dental Records Management: Users can access treatment history, x-ray analysis files, billing history, and prescriptions in one centralized location.
• In-App Notifications: Real-time alerts for appointments, updates, and important reminders.
• Subscription Care Plan: An annual plan offering a wide range of dental services for continuous care support.

Our Project Manager handled internal and external communication. She had weekly meetings with the client to review progress, address challenges quickly, and maintain alignment with both technical and business requirements.

Today, Nine Dental App is fully live and available on the App Store. It provides users with an intuitive platform to manage their dental care through features such as appointment booking, teledentistry, payment history, treatment records, prescriptions, x-ray file access, subscription plan enrollment, and in-app notifications. The app continues to evolve as we add new features, including an upcoming virtual consultation  powered by Zoom.
