BetaIT is a Dutch IT recruitment agency operating in the Netherlands. They came to BeeWeb initially for a simple, well-designed candidate-facing job portal. After seeing the results, they expanded the scope to include a fully custom Applicant Tracking System — replacing a tool so complex their team found it easier to work in Excel.
The final product is a two-panel platform: a public-facing frontend where IT candidates can browse vacancies and submit their CVs, and a powerful ATS where recruiters manage companies, candidates, and the full hiring lifecycle — all with the guiding principle the client set from day one: every key action should take one click.
🔹 An Existing ATS Nobody Could Use
The client already had an ATS in place — but it was so complicated and unintuitive that the team defaulted to Excel spreadsheets instead. The real challenge wasn't building a new system; it was building one people would actually adopt.

With no single source of truth, recruiters had no visibility into where candidates stood across different companies and vacancies. Tracking interviews, follow-ups, and recommendations was entirely manual.

Matching the right candidate to the right vacancy required significant manual effort — cross-referencing CVs, skills, and open positions by hand, with no automation in place.

There was no structured database of candidates. CVs existed as files but were never parsed or made searchable, making it impossible to quickly surface the right person for a new vacancy.

The project began as a scoped frontend build — a clean, modern job portal for IT candidates in the Netherlands. As the client saw the work progress and the platform take shape, they made the decision to expand into a full ATS. That evolution shaped how the project was delivered: iteratively, with close client involvement at each stage.
The team consisted of a Project Manager, Technical Lead, Full Stack Developer, and Designer. The system is built around two core panels. The first is the candidate-facing frontend, where job seekers can browse open vacancies, apply directly, or upload their CV for storage in the database. The second is the ATS, where recruiters manage companies, vacancies, candidates, and every step of the hiring process.
Each company in the system has its own dedicated dashboard showing open and historical vacancies, all applicants, interview history, and hiring pipeline status. Candidate profiles are enriched automatically via CV parsing on upload. When a recruiter opens a vacancy, the system immediately surfaces matching candidates from the database based on skills alignment — and a single click initiates the recommendation flow, triggering an automated email to the company with the candidate's CV attached.
The interview scheduling workflow handles the full back-and-forth: company response, interviewer assignment, date and format selection, and automatic task creation for the recruiter in the ATS. Every candidate's journey and every admin's actions are logged and preserved across the system.
